From Ang Bayan: International Groups Send Greetings To The NPA On The 56th Anniversary Of Its Founding

Various international parties and organizations sent greetings to the New People’s Army (NPA) in celebration of its 56th anniversary on March 29. The groups recognized the great armed struggle being waged by the NPA, under the leadership of the Communist Party of the Philippines, to break the chains of oppression and exploitation of the Filipino people.

Those who extended their greetings include Friends of the Filipino People in Struggle (FFPS), Cairde na Filipínigh Committee of Anti-Imperialist Action Ireland (AIAI), and Communist Party of Australia (Marxist-Leninist).

“The NPA has been at the forefront of the resistance against fascist regimes and corrupt bureaucrats in the Philippines for 56 years, as well as resisting imperialism,” according to CPA (ML). From Australia, they expressed their full support for the people’s army and its struggle, hoping for success and longevity for their comrades.

According to AIAI, the people’s army’s fight “is one of the most advanced struggles for national liberation and socialism being waged in the world.” Because of this, they stated that the people’s army serves as a beacon of light in the fight against imperialism.

The group further added that Irish socialist republicans must diligently work to rebuild the international links which the Irish national liberation struggle share with the Philippines. “We look forward to [the NPA’s] future victories to come and wish them well in their celebrations and efforts,” said the group.

FFPS honored the NPA’s undertaking in promoting and intensifying the rectification movement the CPP called since December 2023. “As the Red fighters and commanders of the NPA, the revolutionary movement, and Filipino people are militantly working towards the advance of the revolution, let us also be militantly working towards supporting the Filipino people in their struggle for national and social liberation!” according to FFPS.
