CPP Condemns The Zionist State Of Israel For Killing More Than 400 In Strikes In Gaza

The Communist Party of the Philippines strongly condemns the Zionist state of Israel for launching brutal strikes yesterday in multiple areas in the Palestinian territory of Gaza, including refugee centers, which resulted in the deaths of at least 404 civilians, causing widespread injuries and overwhelming hospitals and medical facilities.
This latest escalation of Israeli aggression is a brazen violation of the ceasefire agreement that took effect last January 19 which brought much needed reprieve and calm to the Palestinian people. It was carried out with the explicit support of the US government.
The Zionist state’s actions are a continuation of the bombing campaign in line with its long-standing policy of driving the Palestinian people away from their land and suppressing their right to self-determination. The relentless bombing, which began in October 2023 has killed more than 61,700 people (including 17,500 children, and those missing and presumed dead), and caused injuries to more than 111,000 people.
The Trump government of the US is complicit in these atrocities, having recently approved the delivery of $3 billion worth of bombs, missiles and other weapons to Israel. It undermined the ceasefire agreement by supporting the Israeli demand that the Palestinian forces release all its prisoners immediately, contrary to the scheduled releases agreed upon in the ceasefire agreement. The recent declaration by Trump that he wants the US to “own” Gaza is a stark reminder of the imperialist ambitions of the US and its allies, who seek to dominate and exploit the resources of the Middle East, including the Palestinian territories, as well as other parts of the world.
The Trump government has escalated its military intervention in the Middle East and support for the genocidal war of Israel, after recent strikes against the Houthi forces in Yemen, who have been actively supporting the Palestinian people’s struggle. The US strikes in Yemen are a blatant form of aggression and bullying to prop up the Zionist state of Israel and assert US dominance over the region.
The Party reiterates its solidarity with the Palestinian people, who have been subjected to decades of occupation, displacement, and violence. We support the Palestinian people’s continuing resistance and their fight to assert their right to national self-determination.
We join all progressive, peace-loving and anti-imperialist forces in demanding an end to the Zionist state of Israel’s aggression and occupation of Gaza, the violent oppression of the Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank, bombings and acts of aggression in the southern part of Lebanon up to the Golan Heights, and an end to US military aid to Israel, declared plans to turn Gaza into a Trump real-estate property, and its war provocations in the Middle East and elsewhere.
