NIA Conducts Searches Of The Residences Of Alleged CPI (Maoist) Overground Workers In West Singhbhum District

West Singhbhum District, August 23, 2024: The NIA conducted searches at the homes of alleged overground workers and sympathizers of the CPI (Maoist) in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district, officials from the NIA announced to the press today.

The searches were conducted in connection with the recovery of allegedly incriminating letters addressed to top leaders of the CPI (Maoist) in July 2022 in the Anandpur area of Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district, the NIA officials stated.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had registered the case against nine accused in August 2023, a statement from the NIA said.

“The searches today were conducted at three locations in West Singhbhum district, Jharkhand state. The houses of the suspects, in Pusalata, Buru Rengra, and Lipunga villages, are all located in West Singhbhum district in Jharkhand,” an NIA spokesperson commented.

The NIA spokesperson concluded by saying that these suspects had been assisting the senior leadership of the Maoist party in carrying out it’s activities, according to the NIA investigations, which were continuing.
