Press Statement: Chand Led CPN Ready For Peace Talks With Government Of Nepal
Kathmandu February 20, 2021: The Netra Bikram Chand “Biplav’-led Communist Party of Nepal has said that it is ready to hold dialogue and negotiations with the government to resolve their demands.
In a press statement on Saturday, the CPN General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand said they are ready to hold dialogue with the government if the government creates a conducive environment to carry out their activities and programs.
“Our revolution is a conscious attempt for the progressive transformation of the nation and society and for the benefit and rights of the people,”states the press statement signed by Chand, whose nom-de-guerre is Biplav. “I would like to inform all that in a situation of creating an environment for activities and programmes among the people, our party is positive for dialogue with the government.”
The government had outlawed all the activities of Biplav-led CPN in March 2019, terming it as a criminal outfit after it started detonating bombs. The government’s move came days after the group took the responsibility for two separate bomb explosions in Kathmandu.
