Naxalite Squad Executes Police Informant In Dantewada District

Dantewada District, February 11, 2022: A squad of Naxalites executed a villager on suspicion of being a police informant in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district, police said on Thursday.

The incident took place in Tetam village on Wednesday night, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Siddharth Tiwari said.

A squad of Naxalites stormed into the house of Manglu Markam when he was sleeping. They forcefully took him to a nearby place and slit his throat with a knife, he said.

Markam’s body was spotted on Thursday morning in the outskirts of the village. The locals informed the police about the incident.

Police found pamphlets at the spot claiming that Markam was acting as a police informant, the officer said.
