Police Claim 4 CPI (Maoist) Cadres Arrested By Security Personnel In Bhadradri Kothagudem District

Bhadradri Kothagudem District, February 7, 2025: The Cherla police and CRPF 141 battalion personnel took four persons they believe to be cadres of the Maoist party into custody in Cherla mandal in the district on Friday, a senior police official announced to the press today.

According to the police official one of the the detainees has been identified as Gatupalli Vura of Bijapur district, who police allege is an area committee member of the CPI (Maoist) agricultural committee. Two more of the arrested persons have been identified as Madkam Vunga and Kadithe Lakke of Dantewada district, who police allege to be members of the Jegurgonda area committee of the Maoist party. The fourth detainee has been identified as Sodi Sukki of Sukma district, who police allege is a member of the Maoist party’s Pamed area committee.

The police official concluded his report by saying that the four detained persons were taken into custody near Taliperu dam area during vehicle inspections, adding that 30 Maoist pamphlets were allegedly seized from them.
