Maoists, police blame game in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Maoist leader Punam Chandra has alleged that police is forcibly taking away innocent villagers and showing them as surrendered Maoists. In a letter to the press, Chandra has demanded to forward the arrested Maoists in court.

“Baga Kabasi alias Raju of marigeta village in Kalimela block has been taken away by police. He should be immediately forwarded in Court. Police is unleashing its terror in the Kalimela region and taking away innocent villagers suspecting Maoists links. Many have been abducted by police while being asleep and later produced as surrendered Maoists whereas the policemen keep summoning them to get information on Maoist activities,” Chandra has claimed in the letter.

While police and Maoists blame each other for the lingering threat in these villages of the district, villagers are the one suffering.
