Armed Cadres Of CPI Maoist Raid Road Construction Site In Giridih District

Giridih District, November 21: An armed squad of the CPI (Maoist) raided a road construction site in Toko Dharampur under Birni Police Station area of Giridih district, setting fire to machines and the quarters used to house the staff.

Police sources on Saturday claimed that cadres belonging to the CPI (Maoist) torched a JCB, a generator, a bike, a miller machine and the quarters used to house the staff. They further claimed the raid was carried out due to the refusal of the company to pay levy to the CPI (Maoist).

An eyewitness said that more than a dozen armed cadres of the CPI (Maoist) reached the bridge construction site and took the workers hostage at gunpoint. After having the staff remove diesel from one the vehicles, the Maoist cadres used the diesel to set fire to the vehicles, machines, and the quarters used to house the staff.
