3 Alleged Maoists Killed Battling Security Forces In Dantewada District

Dantewada District, March 25, 2025: Three individuals police claim to be Maoists were killed in an encounter with security personnel in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district on Tuesday, a police official announced to the press today.

According to the police official, the firefight broke out around 8am in a forest along the inter-district border of Dantewada and Bijapur, when a team of security personnel was out on an anti-Maoist operation.

In a statement delivered to the press today, the Dantewada Superintendent of Police (SP) Gaurav Rai said that the security forces had gone on an anti-Maoist operation after receiving intelligence inputs concerning the presence of cadres of the Maoist party in the area along the inter-district border of Dantewada and Bijapur.

In his prepared remarks, the SP stated that during a search operation following the encounter the bodies of three persons believed to be Maoists were recovered from the area, adding that security forces recovered an INSAS rifle, .303 rifle, 12 bore rifle and other explosive materials and items at the site of the encounter.

As per the report of the SP, one of the deceased persons was identified as CPI (Maoist) DKSZCM (Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee Member) Sudhir alias Sudhakar alias Murali, a resident of Telangana’s Warangal district, and that the identification of the other two deceased individuals was being carried out.

In conclusion, Deputy Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dantewada Range, Kamalochan Kashyap, informed the press that a search operation was going on in the area of the encounter.
