From Ang Bayan: NPA Celebrates 56th CPP Anniversary In South Quezon Bondoc Peninsula

Ang Bayan Ngayon | January 8, 2025

The New People’s Army (NPA)-Quezon (Apolonio Mendoza Command) successfully launched a simple but meaningful “kapehan” styled celebration (tete-a-tete over coffee) of the 56th anniversary of the Communist Party of the Philippines in a South Quezon-Bondoc Peninsula (SQBP) front.

This also served as an opportunity to honor the past year’s Quezon martyrs particularly Divine “Ka Zoe” Sureta and Paolo “Ka Isko” Cruz, who sacrificed their lives on March 28, 2024 in the town of Guinayangan. Visiting attendees from National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) allied organizations such as Kabataang Makabayan and Artista at Manunulat para sa Sambayanan expressed their solidarity.

Prior to the kapehan, the Red Army collectively read and studied the Central Committee’s statement and the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee Secretariat’s message on the Party’s anniversary. The statements and messages affirmed the call to Rectify and Advance! mirroring the theme of the kapehan.

The celebration included simple food, sharing of past year’s experiences, embroidery, drawing, singing, and readings from some Marxist-Leninist-Maoist books.

The successful CPP anniversary celebration once more belied the US-Duterte regime’s declaration that only one weakened guerrilla zone in the country remains. The Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police’s relentlessly operating troops failed in their so-called “insurgency-free” Quezon province.
