CPI (Maoist) Squad Executes Police Informant In Gadchiroli District

Gadchiroli District, August 1, 2024: A 40-year-old man was executed by a squad of cadres belonging to the CPI (Maoist) on Tuesday in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra state on suspicion of being a police informant, a police official announced to the press today.

The deceased, identified as Lalu Durva, was a resident of Mirgudvancha in Bhamragad Tehsil. On July 30, a squad of Maoists took Durva from his house and executed him. The Maoists left a letter beside his body, alleging that he was a police informant, the police official said.

In view of the Martyrs’ Week observed by the CPI (Maoist) between July 28 and August 3 of this year, the Gadchiroli police are carrying out an anti-Maoist operation, the police official added.
