CPI (Maoist) Squad Attacks Convoy Of Congress Leader Vikram Mandavi In Bijapur District

Bijapur District, April 18, 2023: According to police sources a squad of cadres belonging to the CPI (Maoist) shot at the convoy of Congress leader Vikram Mandavi, who is a legislator from Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, on Tuesday.

The Maoists also fired at the vehicle of district panchayat member Parvati Kashyap, who was in the fleet of vehicles traveling through the district.

There were no casualties or injuries, according to the latest reports.

The incident took place when the Congress leader was returning from a meeting in the Gangalur Haat market, an area affected by Maoism.

Meanwhile, there were reports of heavy exchange of fire between the police and the Maoists in the Kachalawari area of Bijapur district on Tuesday morning. A Maoist was killed in this encounter, and two were arrested from the spot.
