CPI (Maoist) Cadre Killed Fighting Security Personnel In Sukma District

Sukma District, May 18, 2024: “A cadre of the CPI (Maoist) was killed in an exchange of fire with security personnel in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on May 18,” a police official announced to the press today.

“The firefight took place in the morning on a forested hill between Tolnai and Tetrai villages when a team of security personnel was out on an anti-Maoist operation,” the police official declared.

“The operation was launched on Friday night [May 17] based on intelligence inputs about the presence of armed cadres of the Maoist party in the area,” the police official stated.

“After the exchange of fire stopped, the body of a Maoist, a muzzle loading gun and a cache of explosives were recovered from the spot,” the police official commented.

“The identity of the deceased Maoist is yet to be ascertained,” the police official remarked, adding that a search operation is still under way in nearby areas.
