7 CPI (Maoist) Cadres Detained By Police In Sukma District
Sukma District, April 14, 2024: Seven cadres of the CPI (Maoist) were arrested on Sunday in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, a police official announced to the press today.
Sukma Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan stated that security forces detained the Maoists, identified as Madvi Deva, alias Dinesh Madvi, Banjam Pojja, Kawasi, alias Wando Ayata, Kalmu Ganga, Kalmu Sanna, Nuppo Pojja and Rawa Joga, during a search operation in Kistram area.
Kawasi was the DAKMS president under the Tetamgudu Revolutionary People’s Council (RPC) of the Maoist party, the police official declared.
Dandakaranya Adivasi Kisan Majdoor Sangthan (DAKMS) is a frontal organization of the Maoist party.
Banjam Pojja was the president of Padiyaro Parivar Committee under the Kistram Area Committee of the CPI (Maoist), the police official said, adding that Kalmu Ganga was a Deputy Militia Commander and the others were lower-rung cadres of the Maoist party.
The arrests come ahead of the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections beginning April 19.
