4 CRPF Troopers Injured In IED Blast Triggered By Naxalites In Bijapur District
Bijapur District, February 9, 2022: Four Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were injured on Tuesday when Naxalites exploded an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district, police said.
The incident took place at around 3 pm on the Murkinar road when a team of the CRPF’s 153rd Battalion was on an area domination operation, Bijapur Superintendent of Police Kamlochan Kashyap said.
The injured troopers were identified as Deputy Commandant Palwan Vishwas, Assistant Sub-Inspector Sadashiv Yadav, Head Constable Rajeev Ranjan and Constable Om Prakash.
The patrolling team, which launched the operation from its Chinnakodepal camp, was cordoning off forest along Murkinar road when the IED was detonated, the officer said. The injured troopers were shifted to Bijapur district hospital for treatment.
