3 Suspected CPI (Maoist) Cadres Killed In Skirmish With Security Forces In Narayanpur District

Narayanpur District, September 24, 2024: Three persons suspected to be cadres of the CPI (Maoist) were killed in an encounter with security personnel in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh state on Monday, a police official announced to the press today.

The so-called firefight between the security forces and the Maoists was said to have broken out around 4pm on Monday in the Abujhmarh forest along the Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra border when a joint team of security personnel was out on an anti-Maoist operation, the police official stated.

Following the alleged skirmish, the security personnel carried out a search operation and recovered the three bodies of the individuals purported to be cadres of the Maoist party, along with a cache of weapons, including an AK-47 rifle, from the area, a statement from the police claimed.

The identities of the deceased persons reported to be Maoists have not yet been ascertained, according to the police official, adding that more details about the alleged encounter will be shared once the security personnel return to their camp and further debriefings are conducted, and that a search operation is still underway in the area.
