3 CPI (Maoist) Cadres Killed During Ongoing Encounter With Security Forces In Narayanpur District

Narayanpur District, August 29, 2024: Three cadres of the CPI (Maoist) have been killed thus far today in an ongoing skirmish between a squad of armed Maoists and security personnel in the Abujhmad forest area of Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district, a police official announced to the press today.

The encounter began around 8:00am during a search operation launched by a joint team of the District Reserve Guard, Special Task Force and Border Security Force, based on intelligence inputs concerning the presence of cadres of the Maoist party in the Abujhmad forest area along the border of Kanker and Narayanpur districts, the police official declared.

During the combing operation, the joint team of security personnel encountered a squad of armed cadres of the Maoist party who fired upon them, leading to a clash which is still ongoing at this time, the police official remarked.

“So far the bodies of three armed Maoists and a substantial amount of weapons and Maoist related material have been recovered by security forces from the site of the encounter,” the police official stated, adding that the search operation is still underway and that further details about the ongoing gun battle and combing operation are awaited.
