2 Police Constables Injured In Attack By Alleged “Action Team” Of CPI (Maoist) Cadres In Sukma District
Sukma District, November 3, 2024: Two Chhattisgarh Police constables were injured when a team of cadres, purportedly belonging to the CPI (Maoist), dressed as civilians, attacked them with sharp weapons at a weekly market in Sukma district on Sunday morning, a police official announced to the press today.
The alleged Maoists took away the service rifles of the two security personnel following the incident, which took place when the police were deployed on security duty at the market in Jagargunda village, the police official declared.
A small ‘action team’ (typically comprising four-five cadres) of individuals reportedly belonging to the Maoist party, suddenly attacked the two state police constables with sharp edged weapons and then escaped after looting their Insas rifles, the police official remarked.
Other security personnel deployed there swung into action and launched a search for the attackers, the police official commented.
The two injured constables, posted at Jagargunda police station, were initially admitted to a local hospital. They were later airlifted to Raipur and admitted to a private hospital in the state capital, the police official stated.
