1 CPI (Maoist) Cadre Killed In Exchange Of Fire With Police Along Bhadradri Kothagudem-Mulugu Interdistrict Border

Bhadradri Kothagudem District, July 25, 2024: A cadre of the CPI (Maoist) was killed in an exchange of fire between a squad of 10 Maoists and security personnel in the Damarathogu-Alligudem forest area along the Bhadradri Kothagudem-Mulugu inter-district border in Telangana state on Thursday morning, a police official announced to the press today.

The skirmish occurred when a joint team, comprising the district special party police personnel, was combing the Gundala forest area early on Thursday when they were fired upon by a squad of cadres belonging to the Maoist party. The police’s retaliatory fire resulted in the death of one Maoist, the police official declared.

“One body and two weapons were recovered from the site of the encounter,” the police official remarked, adding that a search operation is still underway and that the identity of the slain Maoist has yet to be ascertained.
