From Ang Bayan: Lebanese Fighters Intensify Armed Defense Against US-Israel Aggression

With US instigation and support, Israeli Zionist soldiers launched a full-scale invasion of Lebanon on September 30. Prior to this, the US and Israel had been bombing Beirut and the southern cities and towns of the country for over a week to drive out residents from the area.
The bombings killed over 2,000 civilians, injured tens of thousands, and evacuated over 1 million people, including 400,000 children. Like in Gaza, the US and Israel deliberately flattened residential buildings and civilian infrastructure, including hospitals. The US and Israel also used banned cluster bombs and white phosphorus in their brutal attack.
Amid all this, Hezbollah fighters are bravely defending their country and citizens. From October 1, they intensified the defense of their territory and their attacks on military camps and military facilities in northern Israel. Lebanon does not recognize Israel as a legitimate state, and considers the Zionist state occupied land as Occupied Palestine. Unlike the Zionists, Hezbollah only hits legitimate military targets.
Hezbollah continuously and relentlessly launched rockets at Israeli missile defense systems to render them useless. In its military statement, Hezbollah launched at least 17 military operations on October 15-17 alone. Every hour, Hezbollah rained down rockets on specific positions of Israeli soldiers, which they called the Israel Offense Forces (contrary to their own name, Israel Defense Forces). In many cases, the missiles hit their targets and inflicted casualties to the occupying troops.
On the morning of October 16, Hezbollah successfully drove out an Israeli troop that tried to invade Rub Al-Thalatheen, a Lebanese border town. It also blew up at least four Merkava tanks that patrolled the town of Ramya, another Lebanese border town.
A day before this, Hezbollah rockets shot down two Hermes-450 drones flying over Gaza airspace. Hezbollah also unleashed missiles that reached military camps surrounding Tel Aviv, the center of the Zionist regime.
On October 13, Hezbollah launched a drone attack on Binyamina, 40 kilometers from the Lebanese border, to bomb the elite Israeli military formation Golani Brigade, killing four Israeli soldiers and injuring over 60. The attack was a retaliation to the Zionist bombing of civilian homes in Aituo, a Christian community near Tripoli, which killed 21 civilians.
Lebanon called on the international community, including the United Nations, to stop Israel’s aggression and condemn its growing crimes in Lebanon. At the same time, they called for the liberation of Palestine and to hold the Zionist regime accountable for its crimes in Gaza.
