CRPF Jawan Injured In IED Blast Allegedly Triggered By Naxalites In Bijapur District

Bijapur District, January 11, 2025: A jawan of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was injured when a pressure improvised explosive device (IED), allegedly planted by Naxalites, went off in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Saturday, a police official announced to the press today.

According to the police officials report, the blast occurred in the Mahadeo Ghat area, where a team of CRPF’s 196th battalion was out on an area domination operation.

In his report, the police official stated that during the combing operation, the CRPF jawan inadvertently stepped over the pressure IED, triggering the blast.

Concluding his remarks, the police official said that the injured jawan was admitted to Bijapur district hospital.
