5 CRPF Jawans Injured By IED Purportedly Planted By Naxalites In Bijapur District
Bijapur District, September 29, 2024: Five Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans were injured when a pressure improvised explosive device (IED) purportedly planted by Naxalites exploded in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Sunday, a police official announced to the press today.
The incident occurred in Tarrem police station area when a team of CRPF personnel was out on a de-mining operation from Chinngelur CRPF camp in the area, the police official declared.
During the de-mining operation, carried out to trace IEDs and dispose of them, the CRPF personnel spotted a wire connected to the pressure IED, the police official remarked.
When they were investigating the bomb connected to the wire, it exploded, causing splinter injuries to five CRPF personnel, the police official stated.
After being provided preliminary treatment, the injured CRPF jawans were shifted to Bijapur district hospital, the police official said.
