CPP Condemns Bombing By Israel Of Hospital In Gaza City

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) joins peoples across the world in expressing extreme indignation over the killing of at least 500 people in the bombing of the Al Ahli Arab Hospital in the northern part of Gaza City yesterday evening.

The responsibility for the bombing is placed squarely on the Zionist regime of Israel which has subjected Gaza City to relentless aerial bombardment over the past 10 days. Israel bombs have destroyed tens of thousands of homes and apartments, schools, health facilities, refugee centers, media offices and commercial buildings, killing more than 3,000 people including more than 940 children.

The bombing of the Gaza hospital is a brazen act of terrorism by the US-supported Israeli regime and forms part of its genocidal war against the Palestinian people. It is considered a gross violation of international humanitarian law and constitutes a war crime.

We join the peoples of the world in hailing as heroes the doctors and health workers of Al Ahli Arab Hospital for refusing to leave their posts despite Israel warnings of bombarding northern Gaza. The blood spilt by thousands of martyrs in Gaza flows in the veins of the Palestinian people and gives eternal life to their resistance.

We call on all Filipino workers, peasants, students, health workers, church people, women, children’s advocates, Moro people and minority people and other democratic forces and sectors to join the peoples around the world who have been staging demonstrations before the embassies of Israel and the US by way of protest against the genocide and to rally support for the Palestinian people in their armed and all forms of resistance to achieve genuine freedom.
